2020 Storm Chase Workshop Schedule
The traditional beginning of severe weather along the Southern Great Plains including Texas, Oklahoma and Kansas where seasons collide violently to mark the transition from winter to spring.
Our staging area for this tour is within Red River Country along Texas, Oklahoma and Kansas, where tornadic supercells dominate the spring skies during severe weather outbreaks.
Tornadic and electrified severe weather begin to dominate our chase potential during this highly volatile period and we are likely to witness amazing supercell storms along Oklahoma, Texas and beginning along the Central Great Plains up to Nebraska.
We begin the peak chasing period along the Red River region of Texas and Oklahoma as tornadic severe weather potential emerges along the entirety of the Great Plains all the way up to South Dakota. Climatology potential targets our chase along a beautiful rural path as we explore the vast green fields of wildflowers and wheat as a foreground.
Our epic 10 day storm chasing workshop runs through the Memorial Day holiday as our workshop chases with a much greater chance of seeing a tornado vs. a 7 day tour. This is one of our 3 premium storm chase tours, encompassing Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, into Eastern Colorado and Nebraska as possibilities for our staging areas.
Our chases shift to the Central and High Plains as we offer a tremendous 10 day workshop chasing some of the best structure created by the upslope winds clashing onto the Rocky Mountain Front Range. The grandscapes of the green prairie will be near peak with beautiful contrasts and foregrounds to accent our photography storm chasing.
This Special Edition Workshop is co-led by guest leader Bruce Omori and expected to sell out quickly. Be sure to reserve your spot early!
During the penultimate transition from spring to summer, the central high plains become a focal point for severe weather. As relatively dry air from the intermountain West clashes with moist and unstable air from the east, the stage is set for powerful structured thunderstorms capable of producing intense lightning, epic hail-lit clouds, and multiple tornadoes.
The rolling hills of the central great plains takes center stage during the first week of the summer chase schedule. Our storm chase takes us all over the prairie with tremendous potential from Kansas, Colorado, Nebraska, Wyoming up to South Dakota, North Dakota and Montana as great launching points for our storm chase.
Kick off the Independence Day Week with some of nature's spectacular high plains mesocyclonic fireworks during this precise 5 day workshop as Americana is on display during our chase.
As the mid-summer weather peaks, so do the sculpted and beautiful mesocyclones occurrences along the high plains of the Rocky Mountain West and high plains as high CAPE and wind parameters create epic storms.
Our late summer takes us to the upper plains including the Black Hills of South Dakota, the upper plains and throughout the Front Range as we seek long-track sculpted mothership producing supercells on our custom 5 day mini-chases.
